The creed serves as a fundamental guideline for actions and behaviors. Soldiers are expected to uphold honor, possess unwavering loyalty, genuine courage, a belief in certain victory, an indomitable spirit that refuses retreat even in the face of adversity, and a patriotic dedication that pushes them to fulfill their duties even at the risk of their lives.

While the tears of active-duty generals at the hearing seemed pitiful, the tears of a retired female general were incredibly moving.
